No you don’t have to wear a wetsuit.
You don’t have to wear shoes, but if you did want to wear shoes we recommend ones you don’t mind getting wet.
Yes you will definitely get a wet bottom! Possibly some splashes from the paddles too.
On the kayaks you are less likely to fall in, as our kayaks are very stable sit on top kayaks. The stand-up paddleboards are also stable, but it is easier to fall off of these if you lose your balance!
We currently have 3 double kayaks, 2 single kayaks and 5 stand up paddleboards.
Single Kayaks – Aged 11 or over
Double Kayaks – Any age child with a responsible adult (the child must be able to fit a buoyancy aid on, therefore we recommend aged 4 and older)
Stand Up Paddleboards – Aged 11 or over
We give very basic instruction, and then you are left to explore the lake at your own pace.
You can wear your own clothing, although jeans are not recommended due to getting heavy once wet.
Yes you can, however we do charge £20 a day per craft to launch, and you have to have proof of your own public liability insurance. To book, please call us or email info@newforestwaterpark.co.uk.
No you are on your own with other kayaks and SUP’s on the lake.
Yes, parking is next to the clubhouse.
Yes, during peak times only. Peak times are weekends (May to Sept inclusive) as well as 7 days a week July, August and first week of September. Charges are £2 for 2 hours, £3 for 3 hours, £4 for 4 hours and £10 all day. Coaches are free.
Unfortunately there are no concessions.
Yes we have changing rooms on site, with shower and toilet facilities. These are basic with no electric point for hairdryers etc.
Yes, you must be able to swim 50m with a buoyancy aid on, and be confident in the water. It is very likely for you to go under water.
No you cannot participate if you are pregnant.
We have lockers for your possessions, feel free to bring your own small padlock or you can buy one here for £3. Alternatively, we recommend locking your items in your cars, and we can look after your keys behind the bar.
We will try our best to help out, however if you do run late and miss your session due to being late, we cannot be held responsible. Please leave plenty of time for travel.
You still take part in the rain. We have wetsuits available to hire for those wishing to hire on arrival.
If we have a storm over head then we will pause and resume once the storm has passed. Then your time will continue as normal. This does mean we may have to delay later sessions.
No, we serve food and drink on site, so please respect this.
Yes you can wear them on the kayaks and SUP’s, however there is an element of risk that you may lose them, so it’s at your own risk.
We advise arriving 30 minutes before your start time.
We have a 48 hour cancellation policy, if you cancel within this time you will lose your payment. If you give us more than 48 hour notice we will credit the payment, to be used at a later date, or offer you a 50% refund of the full amount. If you were to give us 7 days’ notice, we will then refund the full amount or put it as credit to be rebooked another time.
Yes, paddleboards can take up to 110kg, our single kayaks can take a maximum weight of 120kg and our double kayaks can take up to 250kgs.
